Altergeist – a novel by Tim Booth

ISBN: 0-9523522-2-2

Life’s tough when you’re a cadet at the DizBee Learning Centre for Advertising Design. It gets tougher stil when some dickhead decides to make a copy of an illegal piece of memory software and download it into your brain without your knowledge. Because this piece of shit’s about to competely change your life – and the lives of everybody around you.

And if your name’s Misha Ploughman, and you’re just trying to get along, then the last thing you need is heat. But that’s what you’ve got, because you’ve got the only copy of something called a Simulated Alternative Mimetic Memory Induction programme wired into your skull, and even though you don’t want it, everybody else does, and when you run, it’s tough to know who to trust.

You only know who you can’t trust. You can’t trust the law, because there’s none in New Ireland. You can’t trust the Church, because they think they’re the law. And you can’t trust the State, because they think they’re the Church And most of all, you can’t trust your friends, because you can’t remember who they were anymore.

All you can do is trust yourself and Ripper the SkateKing. And that gets you deeper into trouble, because nobody warned you about the Altergeist Effect
